All patients registered with a Bromley GP can apply to access this service. Some of people who may particularly benefit from the service include those experiencing complications with their feet due to Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, chronic ingrowing toe nails, people with pain in their feet, ankles and knees (who are onward referrals from Physiotherapy/GP).

I am always happy to refer patients to the NHS Podiatry & Chiropody Team when i feel it will benefit their feet.

Reasons:  why you should be referred include Ingrown toenail removal surgery and Insole and Orthotic referrals,  Severe circulation conditions.

It is getting harder and harder to fit the NHS strict guidelines to get free chiropody and that is why you find so many private practitioners now.

The wait is normally a long one and often patients although may have several medical conditions including diabetes and be 90+ they are deemed to fit to receive free treatment.

Always check with your own GP and ask them to refer you its worth a try.
